Nicolas Camacho is a Colombian photographer that is currently based out of Ottawa, Ontario. Arriving in Canada in 2017 to pursue his undergraduate studies has made Canada the 6th country he has lived in. Previously living in the United States, Thailand, Argentina, Belgium and Colombia, and visiting over 35 different countries throughout his life has sparked a passion for photography and storytelling from a very young age.

 

Mostly concentrating on landscape and cityscape photography, Nicolas’s travels have allowed him to document a wide range of environments. Featured in his work are cities such as Vancouver, Cartagena, Cusco. Amsterdam, Budapest and Prague.

His goal… show as many people the beauty of the world we live in, embrace our differences and challenge the preconceived ideas that people might have about certain countries. Throughout his years of constantly relocating, Nicolas has learnt that one of the most difficult aspects of moving to a new country is correctly representing where he comes from and where he has been. Photography has allowed him to develop a tool to be able to easily show his followers, friends, and family the reality of countries that face many stereotypes.
